seasonal
Yeah right, very seasonal – if you are in the Northern Hemisphere that is.
Here, it’s two days away from midsummer’s day and we had to put the fire on this morning. The country is covered in a southerly flow of rain, hail and wind (and further south: snow). It’s nuts.
But I blame the Australians. They seem to capture all the high pressure zones in the South West Pacific, pushing the Antarctic weather around the bottom of their continent and on to us. I’ve never trusted the buggers. First, under-arm bowling. Now this.

Fear not – I am taking revenge on behalf of all right-thinking Aotearoans by inviting my bro and his Aussie missus and sprogs over for Ecksmas. Being as they’re from Brisbane I am sure they will die of exposure before they leave the arrivals lounge! Mwahahahaaaaa!!!

The exact same thing happened to my uncle and his Aussie family when they came over for a family wedding one recent January. A southerly blew through on the day, temperatures plunged to 6°C and I don’t think they’ll ever be back.
