south coast saturdayAfter cowering inside away from the heat and UV of the early afternoon we hit the south coast late in the day.

You can’t see it in this photo – too hard to pick out against the haze – but the South Island is bulking against the horizon. I always feel tugged in that direction when I see it.

An hour among the rockpools and we were ready for home… and F&C under the cherry tree.

Outside now there’s that early evening golden sun. Bathtime and bedtime soon for the girls.

Excuse ignorance please, but F&C? Fun & Chickens? Fear & Cucumbers?

Come come now, Mr House_Monkey. Surely the concept of Fish and Chips (fush and chups in the local dialect) can not have escaped your attention in your three decades upon this anglo part of this planet?

I guess I was thinking too highbrow, I expected something a little more sophisticated.
