So as this article appears here I shall be in the air. And though I (hopefully) will not be in a turboprop, the words that best express my state of mind are Brian Turner’s:

Your fonder memories
are the shiny haloes
propellers make
on flights
over mountains
on clear days
when you’re
on your way home.

If it’s a clear day (which I doubt), I may even be able to peer over to Oturehua.

    Ever the poet, Martha.

    The plane was an hour delayed, so at 10:00am, the scheduled go-live for the above, I was still sitting in the terminal at Wellington.

    But despite the weather, it wasn’t all that bumpy, once we got going. I’ve had worse…
